Kybella Injection (Double-Chin Reduction)

Submental fullness refers to the excess fat underneath the chin (submental fat), otherwise known as a “double chin.” It’s important to know that you can have this due to genetics, or it can start to appear if you gain weight or as you get older.

KYBELLA® can target smaller, more precise areas of the body that have excess skin, such as your chin, your armpit area, and bra bulge, which shows around your back area when you have a bulge while wearing a bra.

Even if you’re dieting and exercising, you might find that these areas still persist. During your consultation, we’ll discuss the problem areas to determine if KYBELLA® is an effective treatment.

KYBELLA® has an active ingredient, called deoxycholic acid, which aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer store fat, resulting in a reduction of fullness under your chin or your bra.

Benefits of the treatment:

• Reduces the fullness under your chin, around your bra, or in your armpit area without surgery
• When injected into the fat, Kybella destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness in the target area
• Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal

Since everyone’s profile is different, the number of treatments may vary from patient to patient. Treatment with Kybella initially involves two treatment sessions. Then we will determine how many additional sessions you need based on the amount of residual fat.

• Multiple small injections of Kybella are injected into the treatment area
• Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart
• The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have and your desired profile

Because the fat cells are destroyed, once you reach your desired goal, further treatment is not necessary.
